Prospective student Life Sci
Hello MI, I am a bit worried about not getting in to mac life sci. My approximate average by midterm realistically will be 86%, maybe 87%. I was told that the cut off from last year was 87%, but two friends of mine got in a week or so ago with top six final of 85.6%. So because mac only views academics does this mean that if i beat this average I will get in guaranteed? because if not, how would that be fair..im not done all top six yet, will have all 6 my midterm.

If your friends are from the same school, getting a higher average than them will give you a really good chance at being accepted, if they're not, then their acceptance has no bearing on the average required (the cutoff tends to vary from school to school).

I think you can get in, try and raise that average a little with your new courses, I know some friends who got in with around an 85 or 86 average. but the higher, the greater your chances.

my average was... i think 84.5% or 85%? and i got in! so you shouldn't worry. i remember getting my acceptance to the program pretty late too (this was the case for friends applying to lifesci also).
