Psych 2b03 vs psych 2c03
I liked 1xx3 more than 1x03 and for the same reason, I did way better in 1xx3. So which one is more interesting and biology based? I absolutely hated 1x03.. so I dont wanna take another course that resembles it.

Thanks in advance

neither is really biology based - you can't really compare the 1st year psychs with the upper year ones as they are very different.

if i had to chose between 2c03 or 2b03, i would definitely go for 2c03.

hmmm I didn't take 2C03, but I thought 2B03 was reaaaallly interesting. Dr. Day teaches it and he's def one of my fave profs. He REALLY knows what he's taking about & he's quite witty. His tests are a bit tricky.. make sure you do all the practice questions he has online.. a LOT of them show up on his tests and exams Btw, I think 2B03 is a prereq for 3BA3 (positive psych) which is 2761438x more interesting.. possibly one of the best courses I've taken at mac.

Hey! Have you taken these courses before? Why would you pick 2c03 over 2b03?

I haven't taken either course, but I took abnormal psych (2ap3) with Dr. Day who teaches 2B03, and I can't recommend him enough. He's such a great lecturer and as long as you can memorize well, you will do well on his tests. The questions all come from an online quiz bank, so other than the textbook questions, if you do the practice questions enough, you will have seen all the questions!

2AP3 touches on the biological bases of different mental illnesses and is probably the most biological-based out of the three courses, although none really focuses on bio. Animal Behaviour is somewhat similar to Bio 1M03 and neuroscience and sensory processes are a lot like Psych 1XX3, although I wouldn't really recommend them as electives.

I have taken both. 2B03 was okay, I actually didn't find it very interesting, Dr. Day is an amazing lecturer, and his test questions come straight from the online databank of questions. What I didn't like about 2B03 was that it was straight memorization of random factoids from lecture and/or memorization of the answers to the online quiz. It was a survey of many different personality theorists (Freud, Erikson etc.), personally this was not interesting to me...

2C03 is taught by Ostovich and she is absolutely fantastic. Her lectures are crystal clear and I always find her courses very interesting. The downside is that her tests can be hard for some people. If you're not good at short answer type questions where you have to not only provide the correct answer but also provide evidence (in detail) to back up your points, then her tests can be hard.

For interest sake...2C03
For ease...2B03

2CO3! It is fantastic! I took it in the summer from a different prof, but Ostovich is fantastic. She writes fair exams (hard but not overly confusing) and has a real passion. From what I remember 2CO3 is a prerequisite for other courses as well. Great course! I really recommend it.

If you are like me and find MC difficult, take 2B03 in the summer if you can.

Both are relatively interesting. I liked the content of 2C03 which made it fun and enjoyable to attend. I got an 11 in the course. However, I found that 2B03 had less work (in my opinion).

2C03 is a lot more interesting than 2B03 plus Ostovich is funny/entertaining and a great lecturer. But on the flip side, Ostovich is a hard marker and her tests are a lot harder than Day's tests.
