I think it really depends on your interests and which one you would be most motivated to study for. Neither of them are bird courses, and the topics covered are pretty different.

Psychology 1XX3 focuses more on neuroscience and biology, and requires a lot of memorization. I took 1XX3 just this past spring and if you put in a good amount of work, it is definitely possible to do well (not a bird course, but also not impossible to get an A in). I found that because it was more fact based and "sciencey", the questions were usually pretty straightforward.

I didn't take psychology 1X03, but from what I heard and know it more focuses on social psychology, and the content itself is easier than that of psych 1XX3. Although apparently the weekly quizzes can be quite tricky, as they have a lot of questions where there is more than one correct answer but you have to choose the MOST correct one, while I didn't find psychology 1XX3 to be like this.

I've taken both and adding on to what Joyce said above, 1X03 is much more social psychology based sort of like the information you may have learned in high school. 1X03 touches more on things like classical conditional, operant conditioning, how to shape behaviour and the likes. 1XX3 is the opposite kind of and deals more with the sciencey aspects of psychology such as how we see things in colour, how sounds travel through our ear, why optical illusions are illusions to us. For me, the quizzes were quite tricky at first but after having experience from 1X03, the quizzes for 1XX3 got a bit easier. The exams however are NO walk in the park. They are very, very, VERY tricky and I did quite horrible on the exams for both classes.

Im pretty sure psych 1x03 is the pre req for psych 1xx3, so you wouldnt be able to take psych 1xx3 without taking 1x03. (Or so it was back when I took it)

Psych 1X03 is NOT a pre req for Psych 1XX3. To put it straighforward, 1X03 is "easier" in content, although I would recommend taking both as they are required for certain second year courses.
