QUiCK HELP
okay so i thought i had everything settled and my solar battle begins tonight. Although i decided to take a look at the folding paper called "faculty of science" (got it at the open house). It tells me all of what i need in life sci and what my second year program requires as well
it says i must have 3 courses from the life science course list yet for my second year I must only have two....
I have 3 of bio 1a03, 1m03 psych 1x03, 1xx3
i have 1 of math 1a03, 1ls3
i have 1 of phsyics 1b03, 1l03
I am also taking chem 1 a03 and 1aa3 which are both on the life sci course list...so all these accounts for 8 courses...im left with two electives psycho bio and aging and society.............. .........BUT i only have 2 from the course list..
my question is that technically do i only have one elective??!?!? or is bio 1a03, 1m03, psych 1x03 and etc already considered apart of life sci course list (they are listed under it)
sorry for the confusion if i have confused you..im fairly confused my self :( and i need help super quick, it would be much appreciated!

This page from the Registrar's office is probably more helpful: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /calen...13/pg1957.html
You have to take Bio 1A03, 1M03, Psych 1X03, 1XX3 before the end of second year - I would recommend taking all four first year to get them out of the way if you don't have your heart set on those electives.
If you post your actual mock timetable we might be better able to help you.

I think you've miscounted. You have:
Required:
Chem 1A03, 1AA3.
Bio 1M03, 1A03.
Psych 1XX3.
Math 1A03.
Physics 1B03.
^ This is seven courses. You are missing one course from the Life Sciences I list, which would give you 8 courses.
Then you have two electives (health and aging, psychobio), which gives you a total of 10 courses (or 30 units).
You just have to choose one more off the Life Sci I list. Most people go with psych 1XX3. I'm not sure what else you're confused about? You already have two electives.

according to the sheet neither chem under the specifically required, yet i need them for year two, although it is under the life sci course list along with many other, and i am required to take 3 courses from life sci course list...
o and its 8 because I am taking both pyshc 1xx3 and 1x03 because it says 3 of bio 1a03, 1m03, psych1x03 1xx3.....doesnt that mean i have to take all four ? or just 3 units from one of the four??

Yes, neither chem is technically "required". BUT you need them for a lot of upper-year courses and programs. They might as well be required.
For life sciences I, you need three of psych 1X03, psych 1XX3, bio 1M03, bio 1A03. If you take all four, then 3 of them will count for your "3 of 1x03/1xx3/1M03/1A03" and the last one will count for "3 from the life sciences I list". Are you taking all four?
Do you know what program you want to go into in second year?

You need 30 units overall, so that's 10 3-unit courses.
If I understand correctly, so far you have:
bio1A03
bio1M03
psych1X03
math1A03
physics1B03
chem1A03
chem1AA3
hthsci 1G03
Hthage 1BB3
So, you need one more course from the life sci course list. That course could be psych 1XX3 if you want, but it doesn't have to be - however, if you're taking psychobio, you can't also take 1XX3, and it seems like that's what you've done based on the timetable you posted. If you took your linguistics course and kept 1XX3, then that would fulfill the life sci course list requirement while still covering the same content.
Also on your timetable you switched math 1A03 for 1LS3 and physics 1B03 for 1L03 - is there a reason for that?
Edit: yes, if it says you only need 3 out of bio 1A03, 1M03, and psych 1X03, 1XX3, then you only need to take three and not all four...

You only need all four of those if you're planning on majoring in life sciences - a lot of the other second year programs don't require it.

Okay, looking again, this is what you have:
Required:
Three of bio 1M03, bio 1A03, psych 1X03, psych 1XX3.
Math 1A03.
Physics 1B03.
(This is 5 courses).
Three courses from Life Sciences I List:
Chem 1A03
Chem 1AA3
?
Electives:
Health and aging
Psychobio
You need to replace that "?" with something from the Life Sciences I list. If you took all 4 of bio 1A03/bio 1M03/psych 1X03/psych 1XX3, then the last one will count and replace the "?". Then you are good and set. That;s all you need.
sbarbs
says thanks to Quiver for this post.

PERFECT, yes im going to take all four !!!! in that case chem 1aa3 and 1a03 are from the course sci list and if one of the four counts then it all works i guess i just misunderstood the statement on the sheet
