In my opinion, it's definitely the latter, because they're expected to do a good job, especially when her parents paid them.

Isn't she 13? They don't even have prom at 13. It's GRADE EIGHT GRAD. And by the way, in the "Friday" vid, how is she even in a car with her friends driving because last time I checked, no one in North America can get their license until they're 16. And who goes to parties every Friday night when your 13 or even wears that much makeup?

I read there are actually disputes about the money and she hasn't received anything.

...btw in there blog they said shes had 2mil downloads from itunes which has equaled around 1.4 mill profit...though the numbers are sketchy cus somewhere else i read only 200k downloads

in the video in the middle of the post, if you go to around 3:34, shes actually not that bad of a singer, its either this song that just makes her sound so...nasal?... or the auto tuning... lol

so i guess she is doing pretty well off, and its really good that shes not getting put down by the tons of ppl trolling her over one random vid....honestly she might just have to thank those trolls cus i dobt she would have made all that money if it werent for them saying what they say about her vid and getting her all that attention
