Reception
Hey guys,
I just joined macinsiders, but i've been looking at it for a while, and it's amazing! So thank you to all the people who contribute to it.

I have a question this time though =P. I received an email about the following:
Reception to Recognize the
2009 President’s Award Recipients and Provost’s Honour Roll
I'm in first year, so I understand that it's because of my highschool grades, but I'm just wondering, what happens there, and what's it like, how's the dress code, how long will it last, etc (I have a bio midterm right after it!) And if anyone has went to it perhaps last year, can you please let me know of your experience?

Thanks to all!

I don't know what's it like, but congrats on that award. I wish I were as smart as you. >_>

True, but I didn't receive any sort of recognition like that for my high school marks - I only received the smallest scholarship from Mac. XD And yes, it is expected that grades will worsen throughout university... most of us here have probably experienced it. XD Just gotta try your hardest and pull through.

Haha, I know what you mean! At so many other universities they give a lot more in scholarships.. But then again, they're not better than Mac , no? .
Sigh.. I hope so! We'll see how that goes, but for now, complaining helps ... Kind of.

It was really short.. As in 1/2 hour food/people still coming in, then 1/2 hour of speeches/provost awards given out.. then we could leave .. or stay around and talk to people.. It wasn't that bad, got to see Con hall (which is very nice i must say), eat food, and meet new people !
Oh, and if you haven't picked up your certificate already.. it's in GH120, they sent out an email a few days ago
