Hey for those of you who got reinstated, could you do me a favour and check the "Program and Course Summary" link on MUSGI (it's under My Academics). Apparently if you get reinstated or not, it should say so underneath the comment section of the most recent session listed there.

Could you please let me know if that's there for you if you got in? My friend and I are waiting for her reply and we're getting pretty nervous :|

saigham, I applied on the 17th of June.

immastar, I checked that everyday but it didn't change. I checked SOLAR a few times and when TheRock said he could chose his courses, I tried to as well and it let me.

Lets all hope for some good news this week. Congrats again to everyone so far, keep hoping for the rest of us. I really just want to know, one way or the other....well, one way really lol. I had an email from the faculty of science saying everyone should know by the end of the month

One of my friends applied for reinstatement and from what is written on the reviewing process, applicants are reviewed 50% based on extenuating circumstances and 50% is based on grades. However, each case is reviewed individually. My friend who applied had extremely poor grades but the circumstances he was put under were also at another end of the extreme. He was granted reinstatement in the same faculty as a Level II student. I think that if your extenuating circumstances are along the lines of car accident, a death (god forbid) or a parent's job loss; anything along those lines will do the job of getting you back in.

well, my CA was 0.4 below the mark, and a job loss did heavily contribute to my situation...hopefully that means i will have a chance. I asked to be reinstated to level 1 or 2, and i would be happy with either at this point because the anxiety is getting to me

I just recieved an email from the faculty of science, and I have been reinstated into science level 2!!!!!!!!!!! I almost screamed in the office where i work lol!!! Good luck to everyone else!

For people still waiting a response (I know there will be people checking this topic in the future as I did with older topics), I hope the best for you. But if you don't receive reinstatement you need to plan your steps accordingly. Either college for a year or a few courses at an online university with good grades (aim for A- at least) should hopefully be enough to prove to the university you're ready to come back, and the circumstances that lead to your unsatisfactory grades have been resolved. Try not to feel completely broken if you're kicked out. Remember there's always more than one way to reach a goal. Maybe we have chosen the more difficult path, whether it is our fault or not.

I also recommend handing in your letters AS SOON AS reinstatement applications are accepted, as this highers your chances. You can still hand in an application while finishing up your courses. Just hand the transcript in at a later time (some courses won't finish till August). Wish someone had told me that so I would have applied for reinstatement as soon as I could. What the academic advisor told me was to apply to different faculties to higher my chances, but tailor your reinstatement letter towards the specific faculties stating why you would be better there. You can always also transfer later.
