Reinstatement CompSci
Hi all, I just want to start by explaining my situation. Out of highschool I had decent grades across the board (as most do), and I decided to do Life Sciences. I didn't really know what I wanted to do at the time, but I thought that I was going to try to get into grad school after uni. However doing the bio and psych courses really turned me off, to the point where I hated every second of it. I tanked first semester hardcore and I really tried to pull my grades in second semester but I couldn't push through, and now my GPA is too low to continue at McMaster.

However through my first year I really got interested in computer science. I felt like that program sat right in tune with what I had a passion for, technology and problem solving. I really want to fight to get reinstated and I have a general idea of what I need to do, however some more insight would really be helpful.

THE SUMMER

1. Work fulltime
2. Learn to program with Python
3. Brush up on calculus and linear algebra

THE SCHOOL YEAR

1. Apply for Athabasca
2. Take equivalent 1st year computer science courses online at Athabasca

2014 JUNE

1. Reapply for reinstatement

I just have a few questions in regards to this outline

1. Am I still eligble for OSAP?
2. If I get reinstated could I essentially jump to second year if I do well in these Athabasca courses
3. Would Mac reinstate if I really showed interest and improvement with my work at Athabasca?

I really would like some information, past experiences, insight, whatever you guys can give me

Thanks
