Hey guys!

So I have this friend who got a pretty low CA in eng last year (0.5), but he had really really bad circumstances. It was basically impossible for him to focus on school and shiz. He got rejected from eng, but hes waiting on btech. What are his chances? Any backup plans??

One of my friends applied for reinstatement and from what is written on the reviewing process, applicants are reviewed 50% based on extenuating circumstances and 50% is based on grades. However, each case is reviewed individually. My friend who applied had extremely poor grades but the circumstances he was put under were also at another end of the extreme. He was granted reinstatement in the same faculty as a Level II student. I think that if your extenuating circumstances are along the lines of car accident, a death (god forbid) or a parent's job loss; anything along those lines will do the job of getting you back in."


If your circumstances are extreme enough then maybe you will have a chance. According to an email i recieved from the faculty of science, all students at mcmaster should know if they are re-instated by the end of the month...so bascially there is tomorrow and the next day left. Good luck to you!

0.5 certainly does make him stand out from the pack, even if for the wrong reasons.
