This is really weird. My first year roommate and I filled in our applications the same and requested for each other the following year, yet they separated us and gave us each a random roommate. This is really, really weird and I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else. If I knew I wasn't going to be rooming with someone I knew I would have applied to a single. Is there anything I can do about this?

Talk to them, tell them you and your friend wanted to live together and you had requested him/her. I dont know if he/she had requested you too in return if he/she didn't then that explains why
