HAHA. A little on the blunt side ... definitely laughable.
Just out of curiosity, what is considered long distance from the rezphone?...
This may sound like a stupid question, but sometimes places that are close enough aren't considered long distance even if they aren't in the same city.

Incoming calls are free, so if you need to talk to someone long distance, get them to call you!

Burlington is free from Hamilton. Oakville and eastward is long distance. Don't know about moving west.

OMG, I was about to suggest people calling you to use zero cents if they live in a certain city, but when I checked the website they changed everything! Now you have to pay a flat fee :(

You don't need to set anything up if you don't plan on calling people long-d. I suggest using calling cards or a calling service such as xpress call if you want to call people long-d. I'm certain it's much cheaper.

Thankfully the only person/people I talked to long distance when I lived in residence were my mom/family and we had long distance between us minutes on our cell phones.
That said there are always alternatives to buying a long distance plan on your rez phone. You could always use the voice chat features on IM programs like MSN or even e-mail. You can even get video with those and it's free.
Or you could go with Skype if you need to call a landline.

Definitely! Calling cards are about 5 c per minute, sometimes more, so they'll save you tons!
