Returning the Favour on Twitter.
I know a lot of people want to expand their number of followers on Twitter.

So how about this. Announcing a new social experiment.

If you have twitter. Post your link.

(And if you don't, get it)

http://twitter.com/stevedolson

And whoever has twitter, follow me, and I will follow you back.

And who ever else has twitter comes in, follows me and the other person, and we follow them back. And so on and so on.

It's a chain reaction that will bring lots of Mac followers to your Twitter, it's all local and its all awesome!

It gets you followers, more people see what you say, and you make more friends.

So Why not?

Once again,

http://twitter.com/stevedolson

Try it.

Sincerely,

Steve Dolson

lorend says thanks to stevedolson for this post.

Update:
I already have 2 followers since starting this post.

And I am following them. So it's definitely working.

Come on, join in. What are you waiting for?

I'm not to desperate for follows. I barely even use Twitter, but good luck with your experiment.

@anthony

I know a lot of people aren't but I think its because nobody is on it. That goes for program foursquare as well.

It's going to be huge next year. But thanks for posting

Out of curiosity, what's the advantage of having a lot of followers on Twitter? Just of the fact of knowing there are (random) people out there reading what you tweet? I'm very interested in knowing.

Twitter is useless for 99% of the people who use it. Its okay for companies or celebrities, or important people who actually have something interesting to say, but not this guy.

Well I am very interested in business and social marketing. That is my job for the summer.

And from a business standpoint if an employer, client, and/or business, googles your name and they see that you have a lot of influence in media then they will deal with you more than someone who has 9 followers and you have 785 Tweets.

Also, I know that it is who you know that gets you a job. So the more people you know, the more networking you do, the more connections you will make to further yourself and career. Especially...if you are in business.

It's a self-marketing tool that proves to work, and the more you do, the more it helps you. Did you know Dell does 6.5 Million dollars in revenue a year based on traffic from their twitter accounts? Moreover they have over 25 separate accounts?

Twitter is big business.

I'm surprised more people aren't on LinkedIn! Including you, Dolson.

I can't get into Twitter. Although I always read status updates on Facebook, there's very few people's I actually care about, and most updates are useless, stupid, and annoying (I'm including inside jokes and vague status' into the annoying category). Twitter doesn't appeal to me for that reason. Maybe I'll change my opinion when I'm looking for a job, but for now I'll stay clear.

Danielle I am on LinkedIn, you just have to look harder

And Twitter is only good when you are opinionated, or busy all the time.
More eventful lives = better twitter pages.

But if you have a twitter page about a theme like sh*t my dad says. It makes it worth it.

And it's great for newscast. Instant headlines.
