Returning Student Questions
Hey All,

I've been thinking of returning to complete another degree (finished with a H.B.Sc in Biology) and had a few questions. First off, how do they deal with applications and requirements for students coming back / out of school for 4 years? I'm thinking of computer science or computer engineering, but I don't really know the differences, but I do have all the requirements that a high school student would need. I'm really interested in software rather than hardware or theory, but would definitely like a mix. I also want to know how difficult they are and what kind of GPA I could expect when I graduate.

Thanks for any help!

Regarding the other degree, i think you should speak to someone from the engineering office in JHE-A214. Your best bet would be to speak with the assistant dean, Maria White; she is a nice person and will help you out!

Now regarding the difference between the 2 programs, it would be a good idea if you speak with both departments. They can easily help you out and answer any question you might have. Although since you mentioned you like a mix, i heard that comp eng has a mix of both software and hardware.

Computer science is part of the computing and software department and computer engineering is part of the ECE department; they are both found in ITB.
