Just curious abotu the rest of you, but how did your summer job hunt go and how many of you are looking for part-time work during the year.

Basically, I want to know if it was easy for you to find a job, what sources you looked into (e.g., MacInsiders, Workopolis, OSCAR, etc.), and whether or not you were satisfied with the job. I'd also be particularly interested in how others have done in Hamilton. It seems like its slim pickings here, especially for jobs that aren't dead-end.

Found tons of places hiring all over the place, although, whether a summer job is dead-end (for the purposes of a summer job...) is a matter of opinion. Know several people who had no problems finding work.

co-op is the way to good. Alot of my colleagues going back for their last year have secured full time when they graduate.

All I used was OSCAR and now I have two jobs for the year (possibly, but I might drop the other one).

I didn't get a job in the summer cuz I was away for two months, plus I had MCAT studying. But I did get offered one, from looking at the City of Hamilton site. If you want a summer job, start applying early!

Found a grand total of two places hiring on my own. walk-in interview and I got the job. Because of my "personality." Whatever.

I started applying via Oscar back in January. 0 phone calls later...

Useless ****ing resource.

Been here 3 years, every year it's a bloody chore finding a job. Hamilton is a shitter. (But I love it)

found a job at a place via their online application... was hired in february (june-august)... the only place i applied to since i heard back so early... it wasnt anything related to my academic field... but i was satisfied
