DC++ was working for me fine before, but lately it keeps giving me this message:
*** A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
Is anyone else having this problem too? Is the hub down by any chance?

I think the person running DC++ isn't here for Reading Week.

new dc++ design
w/the new machub, i believe off campus users can now connect (pretty coll), but the instructions on the site http://machub.dyndns.org/ only give instructions for windows, i was wondering if anyone knew how to do it w/a macbook or specifically w/shakespeer.

To access the new hub through Shakespeer, you just need to follow the same steps from the older hub. There isn't a different procedure that you have to follow. The only thing that changed was the hosting of the hub. The hub now has its own paid-for server and you can access it both on campus and off campus. The hub address is still machub.dyndns.org though. Feel free to ask me any other questions regarding DC++ and I'll gladly answer your questions.

If you are using the hub off-campus, the downloads come off your monthly internet usage right?

Did you get connected? If not, I think I may know what your issue is. Edit the hub name and make sure there is no space after the .org
