When people sell their notes and past tests with the textbooks, should I buy that too or is it unnecessary?

personally i feel notes are unnecessary. You are very likely bound to get the same tests from the instructors or from friends through the year. All your missing is someones scribbles. Textbooks may be a good idea, although you may find better deals online.

Plus, they shouldn't be selling past tests, thts uni ppt.

I find past tests really dont help that much except for in the Chem courses where they are provided by the instructors.

Past tests are definitely helpful to get a feel of the test. However it is against Mcmaster copyright to sell past papers. Inheriting it from friends/upper years is the free and legal way.

Personally I think buying other people's notes is a waste of money, you'll end up taking your own notes anyways and you will understand those much better.
As for buying tests, that's academic dishonesty and copyright violation. If you get them for free, it's just academic dishonesty.

notes are a complete waste to buy. tests are helpful for a few classes but idk if i would pay for them. past tests in classes like math, chem are sometimes posted by instructor but for something like bio they are not since many questions are reused.

I don't think there's a point in buying notes. Some profs focus more on certain topics that another prof teaching the same course won't. It's better to just make your own.
