Sisters in Spirit Petition Initiative - "Stolen Sisters"

The McMaster First Nations Student Association would like the support from McMaster students in The Native Women’s Association of Canada's Sisters in Spirit campaign. This campaign has identified 520 missing and murdered Aboriginal women whose cases go back to 1970. If this ratio were applied to the Canadian population, it would be the equivalent of 18,000 missing or murdered women.

These 520 missing and murdered women are also known as the Stolen Sisters; some of whom were victims of Robert Pickton.

A petition will be sent to the House of Commons calling on Parliament to ensure NWAC-AFAC receives sufficient funding to continue on its work of protecting Aboriginal women.

To view the petition, please visit this link.

Not gonna bother with the petition, I'll just send an email to my MP when I get the chance? Is that alright?

Yay! The Stolen Sisters campaign! I helped run that for the last two years through Amnesty. I was there getting signatures during the pow-wow last year - we got about 3-4 sheets signed through that alone.

This definitely works. You can personalize it this way. You can also write to the federal government (MP, PM, other Ministers) for free as well.
