"The University will close because of severe winter weather when normal operation would pose a danger to students, staff and faculty while on campus or would prevent large numbers of them from coming to campus or returning safely to their homes."

Guys, its basically impossible for a university to close... (...no, Western doesn't count )
I wouldn't be surprised if the uni stayed open just to make strikers walk around in the snow, :K
But anyway, its probably more likely the reactor will meltdown...or ABB with morph into a giant ass-kicking robot...or some mutant strain of skin-blood cells break out of LSB and infect the staff with a bat-bogey hex...

Or kin kids do something dirty. Actually, anyone want to take bets on how long it takes a snowman with a boner to appear on campus?

I'm hoping.... But I know it won't happen. This thread reminds me of last year with the Psych 1XX3 midterm, which of course wasn't cancelled evern though there was a snowstorm -_-

reactor almost melted down 10 yrs ago....
mcmaster did have snow days (during exams period) 4 years ago.
15 cm really isn't all that much (and that's assuming we get really lucky with wind, temperature, etc) - its one of those baby rulers, basically. Plus its an urban area next to a major road, and a lot of people are in and about it daily... its not like we're dealing with some cute little B&B in farm country.
I don't count exam snow days personally, since most of the month is a snow day... I wonder when the last real (ie during the regular year) one was?

I've heard on the radio, at least once a year, of UTM and UofT closing while I'm on the way to school in gridlock traffic >.< ...
I don't know what you guys are seeing, but have you looked outside?
Brampton's supposed to get only 10 cm. I see at least 15... at the top of my 45 degree angled driveway... And on my windowsill... :S
And no, as usual, there is no salt on our roads. At all. Or any sign of a snowplow.
Thank god I don't have class in the morning.

Try 15cm but your optimism is refreshing.

I live on the escarpment and it is blowing like crazy up here. Definitely not safe to drive down the mountain like this. I have class @ 1030 but if it is like this I may just not go until my seminar at 2:30. It is frustrating because Mac will likely base its decision on the area around the school, which is guaranteed to be plowed (duh, the hospital). I haven't seen a snowplow once and I live on a main road and its been snowing since 4.
