Can anyone explain why patches of the sky are lit really, really light?



Also, the wind has picked up alot on my walk home.

I saw that last night when I was walking, it was really cool but odd at the same time. Don't know why it happens either.

It's just really, really cloudy, as you can see from the picture in this thread from the Weather Network.

It is city lights reflecting off dense low-hanging clouds.

Heavy commercial areas obviously have more light and therefore cause a "concentrated" appearance in some places.

In other news: It is snowing on the central mountain somewhat heavily now.

Ah, that's what I normally think, would make sense, but since I've moved, I've never been this close to that kind of lightshow.
