Hey guys,

I didn't do so well on the first 2 reflections of Soc Sci 2Q03 (70s) with Dr. Penner and I really want to improve. I thought I was good at writing reflections, but I guess not. I was wondering if you guys had any tips as to how to approach the question, how to answer it and hopefully do well on them?

That's a pretty typical mark for Penner's class - breaking an 80 is a challenge. He seems pretty hard to get in touch with this semester, but often having him review them is more informative than the markers. You have to show that you have really done some thinking about the topics. It helps to show the process of how you changed your way of thinking (I realized, this made me understand....)

The marking does seem to be a bit all over the map though - perhaps different markers who have not been in class to see where his thought process and the questions in class go.

Anyone who has taken the course, can you comment on the final exam? He didn't really give us a page limit and I was wondering if his guidelines were different in previous years?

Nope. He always leaves it open ended. He wants your thoughts in how ever many pages it takes you to share them.
