Social Science (2009)
I hope all incoming Social Sciences 2013 students (AKA YOU!) are excited to be coming to McMaster! I know for a fact that your Welcome Week planners (the Blue Suits) are pumped to meet you all!

Soc Sci courses at McMaster take the best of both scientific-style inquiry and the thought processes required in the Humanities; and you will find your courses do mix a bit of both!

Use this thread to ask other Soc Sci students about their programs and what courses they're taking, and get to know each other well before Welcome Week starts in September!

There are lots of Soc Sci students here on MacInsiders, so if you have program-specific or class-specific questions start up a new thread and ask them!

You are allowed to be very flexible as a first year Soc Sci, which is lots of fun! You can experience a lot academically, which is something a lot of other faculties don't have. Take a look at some of your possibilities, like Inquiry and Experiental Education: which aren't available elsewhere! Look at all of your options! (except Globalization, that is Masters only...not sure why it's included...)

Thanks Danielle for the awesome Intro, Make sure all you first years join http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8156143 9046 (The McMaster Social Science 2013 Group) and meet all your fellow first years. I have done my best to answer as many questions as I can there, but Macinsiders has many many more social Science students who most probably know more then me! So be sure to post both here and on facebook for whatever questions you have!
