Hey Guys!
I'm Josie, going into Life Sciences
I'm coming from Dundas (Part of Hamilton)
Driving it would be like 5 minutes, but alas I do not have a car haha.
So I bike or just bus it. Either way 15 minutes-ish.
So excited! I hope everybody joins SOCS because I want to make friends

Does anyone plan on playing intramural volleyball? Or plan on playing for a varsity team? I wanna know how much more difficult academics will be while getting involved in athletics...

Hey Belindz,

Varsity vs. intramurals are a huge difference. With varsity you are practicing close to 20 hours per week plus games while intramurals are just an hour or two a week. I may or may not play volleyball this year (had surgery on my ACL/MCL in May so I don't know if I'll be ready by February).

The balance between academics and intramurals is very manageable. In my 3rd year I played a total of 13 intramural teams and had a very good average. For first year though I would suggest playing only a couple intramural teams while you make that transition.

And if you go for varsity best of luck to you.

I'm hoping to play varsity rugby (which is a short season compared to other sports) and intramural volleyball! Intramurals sounds like they won't hurt my academics at all I'm deeeeeeeeeefinitely playing

merci again
