SOLAR is trying to kill me with frustration
Every. Single. Time. I try to go onto SOLAR for course registration, I end up having to make attempts for hours before I get in. It seems like that's going to happen again this time.
Is there a time of day when there's less traffic so I can get on sooner rather than later?

Usually past 4 a.m. and before 10 p.m. are good times.

Nah... People are getting through... Probably about another 1/2hr of really busy and the rush will be past.
Make sure you're not just refreshing the Max number logged on page... That'll never change, you've got to go back to the SOLAR link....

Weird for me I have had no problems at all accessing Solar this year, every time I have logged on. I sometime have to pinch myself on the arm just to make sure I'm not dreaming.

I finally got on just now after clicking incessantly on SOLAR since 12:01 and I surprisingly got most of my courses. Hopefully you've gotten on by now!

Finally got on! I got a decent amount of the courses I wanted, too. Now to wait for people to start dropping...
Thanks for the help everyone, hope you get on asap.

I actually managed to get in at 11:59pm and tricked the system. I never thought it was possible before!

I clicked like a psychopath from 12:00 - 1:16 am last night and finally got in. Got into 8/10 classes on my list, however, I think its ridiculous that some of these classes are full... I mean.. I'm yet to attend a full lecture.

I think McMaster needs to get some bad press in order for anything to change with the system. If I had known that I can't get the minor I want at McMaster I would have gone somewhere else. There are so many better places to go.. I wish that other people knew that..

Does complaining about SOLAR on macinsiders ease your pain?
The forums are flooded with "omg solar" topics, no need to make new ones

Not having enough room in the courses you want is hardly a SOLAR issue... If there's not enough class space for the classes you want, make the case to your faculty. If they know there's demand, they may be able to expand class capacity...

If it isn't your department then you're probably out of luck, that's why everyone is so bitter! Social science and business (not my departments) have said there is nothing they can do for me to get me into a full class when I e-mailed them. But there's no harm in trying
And yes actually, complaining about solar eases all of our pains
