Yeah and it's Irish, and the Irish name for Patrick is Padraic or Padraig (I've seen both, but the second one is more common). It's actually pronounced "Pore - rick".
Anyways, because of the d in Padraig, it's St Paddy's day.
Lots of people call it St Patty's day because they have no idea where the name actually comes from.
