Starting in January
Hi, so my cousin screwed up and is below the condition for the commerce program and he was wondering if he can enroll in to McMaster in January/February or so after he takes a semester at highschool to raise his marks. Just wondering if thats possible to do.

I don't think McMaster is one of those universities that let you join half way through the year (that's more York and Ryerson's domain I think).

I think the best your cousin can do is reapply in December of this year for the September fall semester.

I think you can join in January, but you may have to do so as a part time student...meaning problems arise applying for OSAP, and McMaster awards and such. Not to mention that you'd have trouble finding 5 courses since so many require term 1 courses which he would not have taken.

It may not be worth the trouble for him...and he should maybe work for a year and apply next September.

I'm fairly certain the commerce program wouldn't let you begin in January unfortunately.

Yeah you'd have to enter a 'general' program and shadow it...I don't think you'd have entry into any specific program.

Either way it's not worth it, even if it is possible, since you won't enter second year until September 2011 either way.
