It's only an video and quiz that's taken online on WebCT and will probably take about half an hour. I reckon that they'll have it up when they set up your WebCT when you start school in September.

Hmm, good question, I'd also like to know!
Is it with move-in day that webct will be up, or with the start of classes on sept 10, or even later?!

It'll be up before classes start. You can also e-mail them to say you can't see it and they'll give you last year's course. It's basically the same thing. I did the 2007/2008 course for the 2008/2009 year.

Last year it took a while for the safety course to show up and I guess I was impatient (I could see my other courses but not the safety course). They gave me the preceding year's safety course instead.

I think the quiz is half an hour time limit. The video isn't long. The point is that it's a one time thing and it doesn't take long at all.

Oh, perfect! You could finish it in day then? At least one course I don't have to worry too much about it.

I did the saftey course in the second week of September. As long as you do it before you start your first lab your ok. Its pretty simple and straight forward too (30min. vid common sense stuff too, and a 14 question quiz. less than 12 is a fail). I also remember there was alot of problems with it not showing up in WebCT for a few people although you'll be using ELM this year. If that does happen just email [email protected] and you should be fine.

Ohh, so it has to be done before the first lab?! That's enough time before classes start, thanks!

Yeah, I think you have until the end of the year. If you don't complete this course by the end of the year then you will fail all your labs.
