Stats Question: Joint Distribution
I was hoping any of you stats students could help me with this question.

What is the joint distribution of X and Y if when a pair of fair dice are thrown X is the value of the first die and Y is the larger of the two values?

I don't know how to approach this...any help would be great. Thanks

I'll be entirely honest. I went into this thread thinking it'd be the start of a discussion somehow related to Prop. 19. I'm afraid I don't know how to answer your question
