Student Work Company on Campus
These guys were set up in the MUSC the other day trying to recruit students for a winter work program from "winterbreakwork. com/CAB" I think.

Does anyone know if they are legit? Any experience with them? I'm like Haiti poor here, and work over the break would be nice. I cant commit to a place for work throughout the semester, but this place advertised themselves as being temporary and flexible.

Any ideas on this company?

I don't know this specific company, but in general beware of places advertising jobs(especially in a recession) people don't usually have to advertise a good job.

It's Vector Marketing. Don't waste your time. It is door-to-door sales of very expensive knives. Waste of time and effort.

Google "Vector Marketing Scam" - it's not technically a scam, but it's a really shady job.

Truth.

A girl I used to be friends with got a job with them and she had to like buy all the knives up front or something to show people and like find her own appts and no one bought them b/c they were so expensive. She did the presentation for my parents b/c she was looking for people to do it for b/c you get paid per appt I think. They seemed like decent knives but she pretty much told us the job was lame and she was looking for another you.

Basically you'd need your own transportation, money to buy knives to show people, find your own people to show the knives to etc.

Yeah, you buy the knives with your own money up front. Then you do "demonstrations" with those knives trying to get people to buy them. But you have to find the places on your own (ie. door to door) and you have to get there on your own. The odds of people selling knives from strangers at their door ... pretty unlikely.
