summer job search ??
Just a general question, I am hoping to get a job this summer and I have no work experience. Would really appreciate if someone could brief me on how and when I could begin looking/applying for summer jobs specifically on campus. I really need a job this summer and would like to begin at Mcmaster.

Try oscar and find a job, if not work for free. Heck a programming job for free still gives good experience. I found my jobs on kijji.

I do know of Oscar plus but I am not exactly sure of when most summer jobs at MAC would be available on Oscarplus to apply to ?? Also, what kind of jobs do students usually apply to ? Just curious

If you are looking for work at mac during the summer you can find jobs under workstudy on oscar i believe. They usually come later in this semester so don't be surprised if there is nothing there yet. Also you have to be financially eligible to work. If you get OSAP your in. If not, you likely aren't.

That's not true. You need to be approved for the McWork jobs only, there are others that aren't through McWork. And for the McWork program, you're automatically approved if you get OSAP but you can get approved even if you aren't, you just need to fill out a few forms. I didn't qualify for OSAP by a long shot, and I wasn't eligible for McWork during the year, but I was for the summer, so it's definitely worth applying even if you don't receive OSAP.

Brendan, MalK all say thanks to starfish for this post.

Most appear near the end of Feb but I'd keep checking because every job is different and they don't get posted all at once.

Not everyone can balance working a job part time and maintaining their school marks and so on though.

Try OscarPlus (as mentioned), or approach professors for internal opportunities
