Hey

I plan on switching a class with my friend on solar soon, but his class is extremely popular and I know that there is a waiting list. Does anyone know if the faculty will save that seat for the next person on the list as soon as he drops the class? Or will I be able to switch into it?

If there is an actual official waiting list run by the faculty, then they probably won't open up seats to everyone else when someone drops the course.

That won't work if they've set it up so that seats won't open up to everyone when someone drops (this way they can fill the seats with people on the wait list). It doesn't matter if they're on right at the same time or not if the seat never shows as available.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. I'm assuming as soon as someone drops the class the faculty save that seat for the next person on the list.

i know some classes have a waiting list but to my knowledge its a first come first serve
