Most positions go to graduate students. Once they have been decided and organized, they go to undergrads.

You can contact the faculty and ask, but for most Soc Sci and Humanities programs they don't have undergrad TAs.

I dunno about an Economic course, but at least in the Computing and Software: they decide in advance the number of grad and/or undergrad TAs per each course. In fact, some courses are allocated just to undergrad TAs. So, contact the department assistants..

My tutorial leader for Econ 2X03 last year was a 3rd year undergrad student, so there is definitely a chance. Just inquire with your faculty.

I had a lot of TAs in 4th year - I had social science and humanities courses. But I think they're pushing more towards PhD and Masters students.
