TA salary and OSAP?
So currently, undergrad TAs get paid $22. Would becoming a TA have a big impact on my OSAP funding? I heard there's a certain amount that you're allowed to make as a student which is exempted by OSAP.
edit: ALSO, do you tend to get less OSAP funding in upper years? (3rd, 4th year)
...and this is my 666th post D:

Making more than $100 per week has an impact on your OSAP. TAs get $22 per hour, so depending on your hours, that could be more than $100 per week.
No, you don't get more OSAP just for being an upper year student. You will get more OSAP if your tuition changes as your program progresses, though (ie. if you pay more tuition third year compared to first year)

I found the opposite. I take 40 units at pretty much max tuition and my OSAP has gone down year after year independent of just about everything (ie my income is not over any limit and my parents income has remained constant), all the while my tuition going up quite a bit.

I believe the standard hours per term is 65, and you're not allowed to work more than 10 hours per week or something like that. At least, that's how it is for chemistry...it's the same union though so I assume it's the same for all TAs. At 5hrs per week getting $22/hr, you're already over the $100 limit. If you can though, it's probably better to make the money and be able to pay for stuff now than to go more into debt and owe more money later. It depends how much it'll drop your OSAP, I guess.
16 weeks in a term = $1600
$22/hr * 65 hrs = $1430
It should be okay, but if the loss in OSAP isn't offset by the amount you're earning, it might not be worth it.

hmmm.
well, the thing is that I want to become a TA more for the experience as opposed to earning money, but not if it has a drastic impact on my OSAP funding. I don't mind being in debt later if it means I don't have to worry about money now.

You have nothing to worry about, as long as your salary is under 10k ish.
I have worked full time summer jobs at 20/hr and still got most of the OSAP I used to get.
I would take the job, experience > monies in the end.
I am not sure if this is true but I heard that if you have been out of high school for more than 4years you get more OSAP

I went from 0 to > $15000. Your parents finances are no longer taken into consideration.
