Take Physics or Organic Chem in summer school?
I'm in Life Science, first year, and I've heard from my mentor and other upper year students that Organic Chemistry (Chem 2OA3 and 2OB3) and Physics (1B03 and 1BB3) are really hard. They suggest it would be better if I took them in the summer. I was planning on taking both at York university as they are offering it and Ii won't be in Hamilton for the summer. However, I can only take one because of timetable conflicts. I am not sure which one would be better if I took it in the summer..they seem equally as hard to me. Any advice would be very helpful. Thank you

Well, what are your strengths?

Just because other people find a course hard, that doesn't mean you will too.

they are both pretty easy courses in summer and in year. i wouldnt take either in summer and just chill in summer. summers will be very busy for u in the future most likely so u might as well relax right now.

Personally, I would recommend taking 2OA3 for sure in the summer. It was really difficult during the year, even with Dr. Stover teaching it. I actually found 2OB3 more straightforward (pretty much memorizing reagents, reactants, and products), but definitely sign up for a tutor using the list of tutors they provide on avenue. I took Physics 1B03 during the summer, and it was really easy (I could have def gotten a 12 if I had been more focused, but still got a 10 without studying a lot). But I took physics here at Mac. I don't know how it is at York, but I'm assuming that it'll still be pretty easy. Honestly, if you think you're up for it, take both in the summer. And it doesn't even have to be all in one summer. If you can, take one this summer (I'd do 2OA3) and leave the other for next summer (1B03) - so you don't burn yourself out. That's exactly what I wish i had done.

Physics at York is EXTREMELY EASY. I had friends who did not take grade 12 physics get a 12 in the 1b03 and 1bb3 equivalent physics 1410 at york. I would definitely recommend taking physics at york. For organic chem, the best option is to do it at mac over the summer to ease the pressure since during the year, you have 5 courses but in the summer you could possibly have only 1 to focus on.

Organic chemistry.

Just practice the hell out of physics and do it during the year... most of lower level physics courses are a test of how well you can catch 'trick' questions.

I too recommend taking orgo in the summer over physics.
