Taking a leave of absence?
Is it possible to take a leave of absence for a few months for personal reasons?

Best to talk to an academic advisor about it. But I can't see that being possible without cancelling your courses.

I don't think so unless the personal reason was an extenuating circumstance, ie. lack of financial means to continue, death in the family, severe illness etc.

They can't force you to continue :/. You're definitely allowed, I'm just not sure how the process works. Your best would be to speak to an academic advisor as soon as possible!

No one can force you to stay in school but the school has absolutely right to refuse letting you come back if you're not serious about your studies! You'd have to have a legitimate excuse I would think to do so though

It will probably work like taking the semester off... since they are so short, even missing a month of school is a huge difference.

Yep. I know someone who had a death in the family and took the entire term off to be home with the fam and stuff.

You're definitely allowed, no one can make you stay. xD
Talk to an acadmic advisor and they'll let you know what to do
