She's scheduled to be back in second semester but it's not set in stone. Anything can happen.

She is on leave now (after having her baby after the spring genetics exam) and should be back for second semester! I believe Ray said that Dr. Bedard is teaching for the first term though!!

I'm not sure if she checks these forums, but I'm sure she would be happy to know that so many students look forward to having her as a prof =)

Since her leave started mid-June, chances are she'll be back for second term, but it's not guaranteed. She's an amazing prof and if you get the chance you should definitely take any course with her

She's allowed almost a year of maternity leave if she needs it though.

Yeah, which is why it's not guaranteed she'll be back second term. She doesn't have to take all that time, but she can if she needs to. If I was her, I'd take all the time I could But I don't think they get full pay for the entire time, only for a portion of it (the portion required by law), so she might decide to come back second term.

I think it's like half of what you normally earn but it's capped at a certain amount.
