Team tryout conflicting with classes
Alright, so thursday sept.16th is the track tryout from 5-6pm. Now I have a class (Commerce 1pa0) from 5:30-6:20 on that day and it's participation-based. I want to make the team but I also don't want to miss the class. What should I do in a situation like this (anyone else had smth similar?)

Well, I would perhaps talk to your TA/prof and see if they'd be okay with you missing this one class. Are there any other sections you could attend?

Is the there only 1 section for commerce 1pa0? Cause if it is, (and if by participation marks you mean I-clicker based) then just give your i-clicker to your friend ::

Yes technically it is that. But I think it's acceptable in this situation. It's not like he is intentionally missing class.

If he has a legitimate reason, then he should talk to the professor. Academic Dishonesty is Academic Dishonesty and the consequences are quite severe.

You could also try contacting the coach for the track team and explaining your situation. They know that academics come first and may be able to come up with a solution.
