I totally appreciate that they want to make sure that everything is entered correctly and there is nothing wrong with the marks, but I still think that waiting for an entire month is a bit of a stretch. Especially considering that all other universities that I know of, mostly in Southern Ontario, have given out all marks already.

Plus, I don't get how the whole summer school thing works then... because if you failed a prerequisite and you don't know, then how do you take it? You just sorta shoot the breeze in that class and find out, oh, I'm not actually supposed to be here? I'm not in summer classes right now, so I'm not sure if there's some other procedure.

I *think* the idea is that they made sure all the marks for courses offered in the first summer term were released so that people who failed things wouldn't miss the opportunity to retake them.

It still must be annoying for people wondering their outcome for courses offered in the second term though. Since it's such late notice, I can see it really messing up work schedules for those with jobs.

Actually it works fine.

Term 1 Summer >> Term 1 regular year
Term 2 Summer >> Term 2 regular year

therefore, you already know if you failed term 1 courses, so your fine.

A friend of mine is currently taking Orgo (Chem 2OA3) for summer school, and took the pre-requisite Chem 1AA3 in 2nd semester. She still doesn't have her mark.

She had to get an exemption for the pre-requisite in order to take 2OA3 in Summer Term 1. Although I'm sure she won't be failing, in theory it could happen that someone either couldn't get the exemption to do 2OA3 because the mark for 1AA3 was delayed, or else they take 2OA3 and then fail 1AA3 somehow.

Is she trying to go ahead (take 2nd year courses before shes in 2nd year)? Because if so then thats always gonna be the case... I guess mac doesnt account for that

Yeah, she's getting ahead. Either way it's a pain about the marks. Although I do understand the priority being with people who need to retake courses.

I understand they are busy, but why bother replying to my email at all if they don't even read it.
That wasn't true for me.

When I started my second degree I was placed in Year III. If you filled out your grad form (e.g. your first degree is being conferred) you will probably be in the same situation as me.

As for registering, I didn't have to do anything special. But my grade report became impossible to read because a lot of my classes from my first degree counted for my second.

If you have questions, PM me.

Yeah, that could also be a possibility... to keep their career clean or something like that.

One of my friends e-mailed 2 professors, one gave her the mark. The other said that she passed and couldn't tell her the mark.

Guess it's just up to the proofff.

Is it nerdy of me to actually anticipate seeing the official timetable tonight? I just want to get a head start on arranging a mock timetable and hopefully not having 8:30 classes.

Please god, no more 8:30 classes.
