Textbook Homework Help Websites & Mid-term Prepping

Cramster - Studying for a midterm? Looking for textbook help, practise tests, lecture notes? I was told about a useful website today called Cramster which may help those in maths, enginering, and sciences. The website is basically a study community where you can signup for free and have access to expert step by step solutions to questions in 162 support textbooks. The philosophy behind the site is that "knowing the answer is not the same as understanding it". Basically what they mean by that is that when you're going through your textbook... sure you can look up the answer at the back of the book... but it isn't knowing the answer that counts... its explaining how you got to it. Thus, this site tryings to help students out by providing expert solutions that are written in plain terms to explain how the answer was derived. They claim to have over 200,000 of these homework solutions.

They also have an online forum for asking questions and getting help from both experts as well as thousands of users. There are over 250,000 posts, which is amazing. When you post a solution to questions you get "Karma" points.

Subjects covered by the website include Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics.

They also have 10,000 lecture notes you can read, as well as 5,000 sample exams for your courses. Great for studying and getting ready for a test or midterm! They say that "you learn by doing problems" and "the more you work-out problems and test yourself, the better you will get", which I believe is true. Practise makes perfect, and this site provides plenty of material to practise on, so make use of it!
