Do they sell them to the bookstore in campus?
Does the bookstore buy them in cash?

I think a lot of people like to try and sell them on their own because they can make a lot more money that way. The book store buys them for half price I believe, so a lot of people don't think it's worth it especially if the book costs hundreds of dollars.

My first step would be to post on Macinsiders marketplace and Facebook for the summer in case people are taking courses in the summer so I can get rid of them early! It also cuts the risk of new editions because 99.9% sure all summer courses will be using the same editions. If I can't sell it that way then I normally keep them until the next year starts. Then I post them again on macinsiders and facebook.

My backup option is undercovers and then my last last option is buy back from titles.

To give you an idea of how successful I've been with macinsiders/facebook. I sold all textbooks I posted except for one

Hope that helps.

I think the number is closer to 25% or less. I had a $30ish book and they were buying it back for less than $2.00. It depends on demand and some other things I don't really understand.

I usually just sell back to Titles. I often get 50% of the initial price I paid for the book, and that's good enough for me. I can't be bothered spending the time to post ads, meet 5 different people who each want to buy one textbook, etc.

If Titles isn't offering a buyback on a book (common for my program because the profs change books like... EVERY term in some cases), I take it to Darien Lake on the May 24 weekend and use it as fuel for the camp fire.
