my friend at waterloo successfully "petitioned" to get a course dropped after the drop date.... no idea what that entails but I think it's probably too late for you since the exam is probably written.

At this point it is too late to cancel a course. However you could have petitioned to drop the course after the drop date if you filled a special consideration. Talk to an academic advisor but I am pretty sure at this point it is too late
