Hahahaha, that makes more sense.

Sorry, I'm a little distracted by the sickest pair of Circa's ever designed.

step one: take the minimal amount of marketing courses. make sure all other commerce courses are either accounting or finance. try to pick electives which are heavy on math, maybe some of the harder econ courses (read:nothing from second year).

step two(this is where it gets tough): get an 11 average over the next few years

step three: grab some extra-curriculars plus some solid work experience

step four: maybe land a banking job out of school.

The reality of it is that not many mac kids are going to go straight into ibanking.(Im being nice here, id be surprised if any more than 1 made it this year)

also, a CA is a great starting point everything. the reality of the situation is you NEED an accounting background (even if just some upper level courses). Dont just take finance courses and go for a CFA, its not enough(though it is certainly a good starting point).

also. grades, like really good ones, will help.

What electives would you recommend for second year commerce? First year math courses? I want to go into ibanking really bad, and I have 11.5 average so far.

Thanks

Electives don't matter at all to be honest as long as they are semi relevant (Accounting/Finance). Accounting is better in my opinion at Mac though. You might have a slight edge in interviews that way. At least it helped me a bit.

2 Third years got internships
2 Fourth years got Full time offers

But you're right. Far and few between. It takes more than an 11.0+ though to be competitive from mac.

Are you serious? What the **** do people do with their lives. Lmao.

Where do you guys even get all this information, anyways?

I'm just confused, I don't know where to find any of this information.

How do you go about getting a CFA? Is there specific classes you need?
(and/or what classes do you recommend taking?)

Since y'all seem big on Accounting... If I choose to go for a CA/CMA instead, can I turn around later and get a CFA with the classes I took?
(and what classes do you need for CA/CMA?)

Yea, I'm confused. Why do people always give me shit when I say I hate commerce at McMaster if it's only good for one thing?
