Things to be Thankful For
Thanksgiving is more about turkey dinners and mashed potatos, its about being thankful for what you have. After watching this video by Haitians talking about #First World Problems, I learned to be more appreciative for everything in life.

Click on the link below to watch the video, and talk about what you're thankful for

I learned the same thing as you Ellie. That short, yet sweet video was quite moving. Thank you for sharing this with me!

I'm thankful for this incredible important MATLAB assignment I have due next day, and how I pay over 8 grands a year just to get to do barely explained assignments using software that I will barely use in real life, instead of the one I learned how to use last year.

Life, music, an education, Mario Kart, phenomenal friends (like the kind that take you in on Thanksgiving!), and the fact that I found a fiver in my sweatpants this morning.

In the last two days? That my boyfriend loves to cook. Cooking is so much more fun with two people, and we make interesting and delicious things when he comes to visit.

Saturday night: Pear-glazed ham, strawberry/spinach/advocado/amond/poppy dressing salad.
Sunday night: Bacon wrapped and skewered shrimp and pineapple, with sweet and sour sauce, + leftovers from Saturday. And more salad.
Monday for lunch: Quiche!

Life is good. Some aspects of it suck and probably always will, but overall... I think I'm learning to appreciate things more.

The ad was eye-opening and while it's clear that it was made with good intentions, I probably side with the response article. For those who haven't read it, the whole point of the #fwp hashtag is to illustrate how trivial those problems are-- they're not to be taken seriously, and to use a phrase like "#firstworldprobl ems aren't problems" just shows how out-of-touch the people behind the ad are.

Not that the ad is bad in any sense. Using the trend to effectively encourage people do donate to charity is always good, I'm just saying that there's nothing malevolent about the hashtag.
