I'm going to be going to Mac in the fall for Social Sciences and I want to transfer to Commerce next year. It says on this web page (can't post the link but you can google search "transfer to second year from another mcmaster program" and click on the first link) that Comm 1e03 is not required to transfer to commerce II.
I thought to transfer to Commerce II I would have to shadow what business I students would take (which includes comm 1e03). So I'm confused whether or not to actually take it...

I would go with what the website is saying. You can always contact commerce academic counsellor to make sure. Just search it on google and you should find their number. Also, the website says that you would need at least a 6 GPA to get into the program. But, that is way too low and you should aim for a minimum of 9 GPA.

It may not be required, but that doesn't mean it won't be beneficial. If you transfer without that course, you'll probably just end up having to take it after the transfer.
Not everybody knows that they want to transfer in time to select the relevant courses.
I had a friend who transferred to commerce in second year (this would be 2 years ago) and he did not have to take 1e03. I would go with what the website says.
