Depends where/what you're transferring from.

So are you going to be in Life Science in second year?

I believe all you have to do is just take the required courses for Stats spec (shadow basically)...

Also, did you apply for it as one of your programs to go into? Do you have all of the prerequisites to get into math and stats (first year calc, Math 1B03). If so, maybe you can just email them and ask to be put in it. Someone I know emailed to be put into another program, and they got in.

You should be taking...(assuming you have first year calc (full year), and Math 1B03)
Math 2X03/2XX3
Stats 2D03/2MB3
Math 2C03
Math 2R03

You should have no problems getting into these courses.

Well i have applied for math and Stats ...but i am afraid that my second term calculus mark may not be a C+..which is required. :( So i was thinking about doing one year of H life science. and transfer after my second year.

If you don't have a mark high enough for the second calc, I'm pretty sure you are put into the three year "Mathematical Science" program, and then can apply for the 4 year program after you get higher than a C+ in any second year math (or something like that).

What program were you in last year? Life Science?

No..first you're going to be into the 3 year program, upgrade your marks appropriate for the program you originally wanted to go into and then you transfer your credits and you'll have to complete two more years I beleive (so..a total of 4 years).

You should probably talk to a councellor and they can tell you all the details and get you into classes you need to be in.

But the Math program does get harder than second term calculus...

I heard that u are allowed to switch majors after 2nd year as long as ur grade is good and there's space in the program. U would have to shadow that other program u want to transfer into

That depends on the program, you don't necessarily have to be in a 3-yr program first.

@OP- talk to an academic advisor as soon as you can and see if there's space and you can maybe transfer now instead of waiting till after 2nd year.

If she doesn't get at least a C+ in the second calculus then yes, they will be put in the Mathematical Science (3yr program) if she wants. As soon as she gets above a C+ in a second year course she can be put back in the regular 4 year program.

I think....this is what my friend told me, at least......

EDIT: To the OP, go talk to an academic adviser.
