Trouble integrating mac email into gmail
Hey there,

So I was following the integration of my mac email into gmail thread (though it is a bit out-dated), but I came across a problem when trying to integrate them. When I select "Send through mcmaster.ca SMTP servers" and type in my macID password, I get this error message after it checks my credentials:

"Authentication failed. Please check your username/password.
[Server response: 535 (513) unknown user account code(535) ]"

Has anyone had this come up and how did you go about fixing it? I'm positive my password is correct!

Thanks!

I remember attempting this last year when we transitioned over to Gmail.

I actually gave up and forwarded everything to my personal Gmail account. I recall Mac hasn't supported this feature at the time.

Sorry I'm a little confused!

I'm trying to forward everything to my personal Gmail account but isn't this the only way because it's not working :( Or do you mean you just forwarded the emails through the forwarding tab in the settings and that the send as your mac email feature doesn't work?

Thanks by the way!

There are several ways you can do this.

My first attempt was to add the Mac account to my personal account. Gmail can support up to 5 e-mail addresses. If you have 5 e-mail account, you can pool it all into one.

After playing with the POP settings and checked with UTS, they did not offer the functionality at the time. However, I revisited this problem and looks like they have resolved the issue.

Try adding your account via personal Gmail and follow these instructions. It sure beats e-mail forwarding from your Mac Gmail.

Hope this helps!
