I am also thinking of dropping off a cheque on the day I move in, I hope its not too late?

you would think if payment is due on sept 1st that they would have at least 1 person working in the office for people bringing in cheques for them.

so, if my parents paid for it online and my accound balance on my mugsi hasnt been updated then i shouldnt be worried?

Well I moved in on Aug 30th, but because of the whole Welcome Week activities and just trying to settle in, I didn't have time to even drop it off. And well its Sept 1 today, which also is a holiday, and I'm paying by money order. I don't want to drop it off in their mailbox only because it is a large amount of money. So I asked the student services and they said that the Student Accounts and Cashier Office would understand if I was to give it tomorrow.

So is there any suggestions? I don't mind paying the extra $35, but I think it's a little silly to have a due date on a holiday.. especially if they're not open.

It can take time for mugsi to update.

By the time mac recieved my cheque till the time it was updated was 1.5 weeks. As long as your online bank verifies that mcmaster recieved the payment you should be good. Remember that online banking has a delay of about 2-5 days.
