Tutorial Question
I have a tutorial for physics term 1 at 8:30 Wednesday ... from what I have heard most people do not attend them ... I am commuting from mississauga so there is a chance I could be late (its the only class i have at 8:30) ...so ...(1) should I go to this tutorial? (physics is not really my best subject) ...(2) If i happen to be late to class is that OK? ... and generally speaking if you are late to any class do the profs kick you out? (this is what all my highschool teachers said to me ... )

thanks

Tutorials don't happen on the first week of school. I took Physics 1L03 and tutorials were mandatory as you did quizzes that count for ~10-15% of your mark. As for being late, I've never seen a professor kick someone out for being late. However, when someone is late to class they make noise and distract those who did come on time, so I suggest you be considerate.

The tutorial quizzes account for 27% of your grade....and the TA decides if the quizzes should be written in the beginning of tutorial or near the end of the tutorial. Usually, the TA makes students write the quizzes during the beginning of tutorial and you are given roughly 15 mins to complete it. The quizzes are only 5 multiple choice questions btw.

If it's the only 8:30 class you have, it honestly could be a lot worse. You should always go to tutorials, not only because it's worth some of your grade but TAs really recognize the efforts of those who attend (especially the really early/late ones). The group ends up being smaller over time and those who are still present often get rewarded with information/help that those who arent there won't get.

As for commuting from Sauga, tons of people do it, myself included. It's not so bad if it's only once a week.
