Which ID are you referring to?
She was like, "do you have two pieces of government photo ID"
and I said "uh..I have a driver's license, expired passport, and that's about it. I have the old health card."
And she was like that's not sufficient, until you have two pieces of photo we can't go any further.
T_T
And sigh, as much as I would like a job, I'm not about to call up their HR department complaining about something before I'm even granted an interview, lol.

Consider getting a new passport. Passport Canada will issue a new passport in as little as 24 hours under certain circumstances, as long as you pay an extra fee.

You also need to provide proof as to why you need it so soon.

SIN cards usually suffice if you do not have hold of a 2nd PHOTO id.

Yes, I saw that on the passport Canada website.
I'm going to go to Services or w/e and see how quickly I can get a health card. Full time job now > future renewal fees, lol.
Otherwise, I'll see about that new passport.

That's a strange policy. I guess they are assumuing everyone has a licence and the new health card. But what if you have the old health card, or no licence (like me)? That's a lot of hoops to jump though, especially since you're only in the interview stage.

They just want to make sure you're of age... Child Pornography laws are stricter than ever in the Western World.

Photo health cards do not cost money to renew or replace. I broke mine drunk one night and got a new one no problem - you just wait for it in the mail and until them you are given a piece of paper with your health card info.
Also, I got a new passport last year and requested a rush, I didn't have to PROVE I needed it for something to get the rush granted. I said I was planning on going to the states on the weekend for shopping and had no problem at all. But if I'm not mistaken you need a birth certificate to get a new passport UNLESS the passport you have thats expired was an adult passport. I needed to fill out paper work and show documentation for a new passport seeing as how this was my first adult passport.
And if you need a birth certificate for your passport, you can request one get sent to you and do it all over the internet (I did this last year because I didnt have one as well). You are asked certain questions that only your parents/you would know ie. what your parents names are, what address they used when they filed for your BC, what hospital you were born at, what you weighed at birth, who the physician was that delivered you etc. etc. Your parents should be able to help you out with the answers to those questions.
Health cards cannot be rushed for a fee, passport and BC can.

How long did your health card take to get in? How long did they say it would take?
And is a BC considered PHOTO id? What's the rush you can get on it? I can't find the appropriate website.
It's not even that I don't have a birth certificate or that I lost it. It's because I'm FUUCKING FRENCH.
"For Canadians born in the province of Quebec, only a birth certificate or a copy of an act of birth issued after January 1, 1994, by the Directeur de l'état civil of Quebec or a certificate of Canadian citizenship are accepted as proof of Canadian citizenship. "
God I hate my life.

@Cheri: Didn't mention this yet because you need the card on short notice, but in case this ever happens again, you might want to consider getting a "BYID" issued by the LCBO. The only irritating thing about getting that is that you need a certified guarantor. Info can be found here:
http://www.lcbo.com/socialresponsibility/byidcard.shtml
It's a relatively easy to get piece of gov't photo id.

They told me my health card would be sent in the mail 4-6 weeks and it actually does take them that long to send it... I remember thinking my card wasnt going to come and it finally did after a LONG wait
BC isnt considered photo ID I dont think but its a legitimate document thats used to obtain other documents like passport, health card, the LBCO card someone else mentioned so I dont see why it wouldnt be acceptable... Ill try and find you the link I used to order mine online (Im not sure if its th same link because you were born in Quebec but Ill check and post what I find)
I rush ordered my BC to arrive in a week and paid i think 70 dollars and surprisingly it came in like 2 days after I made the request
EDIT: http://www.etatcivil.gouv.qc .ca/en...-copy-act.html AND http://www.etatcivil.gouv.qc .ca/en/services.html
I came across this website from the Service Canada website after I clicked Quebec to find out information on their BCs not too sure if these pages will be of any help to you? Maybe you can call them on Monday and ask them what you have to do

Firstly, I think someone mentioned it, but it doesn't cost to renew the photo health cards. Secondly, there was a suggestion issued that everyone is expected to give up their red and white cards and switch to the green ones a couple years ago so it is rightfully assumed that you have a photo health card.
An expired passport doesn't count for anything despite what you may read online. No one even wants to hear of it, at least in my experience, if it is even 6 months before it expires...silly imo but such is life.
Also, judging by the red and white health card, you were born in Canada so I'm not sure how this works for you, but I have a citizenship card that's photo ID. Do "real" Canadians have something similar that you can use maybe?
I don't know why people keep suggesting this, unless maybe they've never seen a SIN card, but it doesn't count as photo ID...however, aside from your driver's licence you may be able to get by using your student card and a credit card as joint identification. Often a credit card along with a valid driver's licence works too as long as the names on them are identical. If they won't accept that, then it would seem that your only solution is to renew your passport.

"Real" Canadians have a birth certificate as their proof of being a Canadian citizen, and in addition a passport is used as proof of citizenship.
The red and white health card does not mean you were born in Canada either - its the old style of card they used before... Just like the Ontario drivers license changed their design with added security features the health card did as well
Also I'm pretty sure a SIN card wouldnt help her case. I know an ex-boyfriend of mine had absolutely NO government issued ID except his driver's license which his dad signed as a guarantor for him to obtain. Anyways moral of the story he was able to obtain a temporary health card with his photo. The card was only valid for a brief period of time (no idea HOW he got this) but I believe they gave him a temporary SIN card as well while he awaited obtaining a copy of his birth certificate from Florida.
