UBB is pure BS

Teksavvy just send out their email in regards to UBB.

The biggest difference now is that there is no longer a cap on overage fees. Where as they would have a maximum overage fee before, there is none now. People in student houses are especially screwed now as they could be faced with hundreds of dollars in overage fees per month.

I'm using PRimus and they just gave us a new limit of 25GB download...

Like WTF ? That's not even 3 new pc games !!!

we already pay hundreds of dollars a month in a house with 7 people.

Can someone update me on Cogeco and their prices? Can't seem to find it on the website.

We should boycott (won't happen ) or have some pirates get some free isp for us like they did in Sweden..

$64.95 with no contract, $54.95 with contract for:
7 MBps down
120 GB transfer per month

Business internet standard
$99.95 with no contract, $89.95 with contract for:
16 MBps down
200 GB transfer per month

For a house that downloads a lot, the Business internet starter is probably their best option. Note that they currently charge $1.50 / GB for overage to a max of $30. Although that is subject to change.

The UBB that's getting passed along is because Teksavvy and others rely partly on Bell and Bell has required it be implemented. Cogeco has a completely separate network and so no change should be expected. Of course the reduction in competition might cause Cogeco to raise prices to as high as they can get away with ....

Cogeco isn't affected, at least I think they aren't.

The UBB stuff is Bell, and all the private companies who use Bell's infrastructure to operate. Since Bell imposed these charges and new limits, they are allowed to impose them on those smaller companies that buy internet from Bell.

Cogeco is different from Bell.

Switch to Cogeco, easy fix.

its because of all the downloading, unlim bandwidth is no longer a profitable term to be used. RIP unlim bandwidth
