A nice card and a half dozen red velvet cupcakes from Cupcakes in Westdale is something I would think is sweet, but not over the top (i.e Jewelry isn't always an option, budget wise and if you haven't been dating all that long)...

Come, we can do better than that.
I'm sure she'd like a robotic dog who can leap, bark, fetch, and make coffee while taking care of its own personal hygiene.
Not at the same time.
Of course, since time is of the essence, we can always program her computer to do something amazing.
There you go again with the programming thing. Zebedee!!! >_<
If anyone is looking for new ideas, the IEEE student branch (ITB-141) sells these neat little flashing LED hearts. They come in unassembled kits for $15 and only take an hour or so to complete depending on your previous soldering experience.

We can arrange a license for you to use one of my ideas, I can't discuss it otherwise.

...the teddy bear may pass for a cute gift in high school...
..welcome to serious relationships. get her something good or nothing at all.
and about the shower head as a valentine's day gift... you're kidding right?
you will legitimately get slapped.
Think jewelry, her birthstone (if it's an affordable one), plan a romantic night at a hotel in Niagara Falls (I would personally LOVE that) ... think along those lines.. not... household items...
Strong independent woman. I think these types of women should give US gifts.

Nonsense, forget about all that, just tell her Valentines day isn't about the gifts, it's about Love, and then read her a poem that you wrote, titled "You, me, and the D".

Order a pizza, download a movie and watch it with her on your laptop. It's the simple things in life that evoke the greatest responses. Though if you're on osap you might wanna skip the pizza and make some heart shaped PB&J sandwiches with like hot chocolate or something.
Girls are so different when it comes to this day. I have a friend who has told me multiple times that if she doesnt get jewellery (like expensive $200+ jewellery) for vday from her boyfriend then she is going to be so devastated.
The guy ive been seeing for a little while surprised me by buying himself skates so we could go skating together! I think that was awesome, he didnt even spend money on me but he got major points for that cause he knew i loved skating
